Charlie M. Hadden

Charlie M. Hadden, former Osage County resident, died at his home Thursday, January 5th, 2012 in Sonoita, AZ.

He was born February 28,1937 in Ponca City, son of Homer and Alladene Hadden. He graduated high school in Burbank, attended Oklahoma State University and Northwestern Oklahoma State University where he was on the rodeo teams. He and his wife, Nancy were married June 14, 1958. The early year of their marriage years were spent in Osage County ranching, cattle buying, and meat packing. In 1978, he became an agricultural loan officer (and later VP) at the First National Bank in Ponca City. In 1987, he and Nancy opened wholesale and retail business in Tucson, Arizona. They retired in 2002 and moved to Sonoita where he returned to the western way of living that he loved so much volunteering at the local fair grounds organizing rodeos and horse races.

He is survived by his beloved wife Nancy of the home, his daughter Marcy H. James and her husband Dr. Phil James of Cambridge, Massachusetts, his son Kelly D. Hadden and wife Dayna from Tucson, Arizona, one sister Martha Belle Chambless of Chico, California. His two grandsons, Calen Carr and Charles Carr and his wife Rebecca; Two granddaughters, Alladene and Joanna Hadden, and one great granddaughter Genevieve Carr. One step great grandson Jesse Bennett.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Homer Hadden, Jr. and grandson Christopher H. Carr.

Charlie was a charter member of the Greyhorse Masonic Lodge the Adkar Shrine and a member of the Sonoita Bible Church.

Graveside services and burial will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at the Ponca City IOOF Cemetery under the direction of Trout Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Minister George Weston of First Christian Church where Charlie and Nancy were members for many years.
