Obituary for Wayne "Butch" A. Behar

Wayne A. "Butch" Behar, age 70, life long resident of Ponca City, passed away Monday, September 17, 2018 at his home.

Butch requested cremation without a ceremony and will be released across the beautiful Cascade Mountains in Oregon and Rocky Mountains in Colorado. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Butch was born on July 9, 1948 to Theodore Dewayne Behar and Lela Evelyn Puryear Behar in Ponca City. As a young child Butch's parents passed away and Butch was raised by his grandparents O.A. and Mae Puryear in Ponca City. Butch attended the Ponca City Military Academy and then graduated from Ponca City High School in 1966. After high school, he attended Northern Oklahoma College before he began his career with Mertz Manufacturing. Butch retired from Mertz after 33 years of metal fabrication. As well as being a skilled metal fabricator, Butch was an expert in working with stained glass. His stained glass pieces have been sold to many and colorfully adorn homes to this day. Butch was one of those kind, gentle, souls who was always found with a smile on his face, warmly greeting any who came his way.

Survivors include his daughter Megan Younge of Springfield, OR, sisters: Carolyn Ingram and husband Roger of Sapulpa, OK, Connie Riffel and husband Ed of Marion

Butch was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
