Virginia was born on June 10, 1931 in Drumright, Oklahoma to Fred Raymond Birge and Ethel Mae Denny Birge and moved to Ponca City at age 12. On December 24, 1949, she married Robert Henry Taylor and they had celebrated their 68th Wedding Anniversary shortly before Robert's passing in January 2018. They have two daughters, Roberta (Larry) Denton of Frisco, Texas and Joyce (Ronald) Hays of Ponca City, Oklahoma.

For many years, Virginia was employed by the Ponca City Public School System in the food service department at Lincoln Elementary and West Junior High Schools. Before her advanced age, her hobbies included decorating cakes, camping, fishing, and traveling with her sisters Marie and Margie and their husbands. Her favorite trip was to Mount Rushmore and she always expressed a desire to return there once more. She loved playing bingo and dominoes with her newest friends at Via Christi.

Virginia is survived by her two daughters, Roberta Denton and husband Larry Denton of Frisco, Texas, Joyce Hays and husband Ronald Hays of Ponca City, Oklahoma; grandchildren Brent Hays and wife Lisa of Ponca City, Robert Hays and wife Merry of Ponca City, and Jonathan Denton and wife Stephanie of Frisco, Texas; great grandchildren Sean Hays of Shreveport, Louisiana, Clayton Hays, Cadence Hays, Katrina Hays, and Conner Hays all of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Blake Denton and Brandon Denton of Frisco, Texas.

She is also survived by her sisters, Marie Gelino and Margie Hand; sister-in-law, Norma Osborn; brother-in-laws, Virgle Taylor and his wife Eva, Harold Taylor and his wife Martha, as well as her long time very special friends, Barbara Jacques (husband Harry) and Nadine Thomas.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, her brothers Orville, Raymond, Melvin, Herman, Wesley, and David Birge and one sister, Abby Lucille.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the employees of Via Christi Assisted Living staff for the wonderful love and care given to Virginia.
